Gift Exchange rules
Gift Exchange is Secret Santa for families. The core exchange is free for eligible groups of any size, starting at three participants. The free-family membership limit remains four; an exchange guest is not an additional family member.
Who can join?
- A draw needs at least 4 people. Groups can be any size from that minimum; family membership and child-safety rules still apply.
- Verified active family members can take part. Where separately enabled, an invited and verified guest may take part in that specific exchange without joining the family or gaining family permissions.
- Children under 13 can join through an adult-managed profile or an account approved with a parent or carer code.
- People aged 13 to 17 need parent or guardian approval before using their own account.
How does the draw work?
The Head Elf sets a budget, chooses who takes part and can add exclusions, such as two people who should not draw each other. Each participant should only see their own match. For a child profile, the linked adult handles the child's participation.
If the group changes after a draw, the Head Elf may need to draw names again. Your earlier match may no longer apply. Don't reveal someone else's match.
Do we take money?
No. The Gift Exchange helps families plan presents, but does not buy, reserve or guarantee any gift. Agree your budget together. A retailer's own prices, delivery and returns rules apply when you buy something from it.
Are wishes and gift claims private?
The person receiving a gift should not see who claimed it. Don't share surprises in public posts, messages or screenshots. Report any privacy concern to hello@underourtree.co.uk.
Need help?
See Help in the app or email hello@underourtree.co.uk. These are the intended rules; a draw or payment is not claimed Live unless its checks and controls work.
